Dalmations

Dalmations are a well known breed because of the movie. But are you really familiar with the personalitites of dalmations?
Many dalmations are purchased or adopted because a child sees the movie and wants one. Then the family discovers that dalmations can be high strung and need a lot of exercise.
I used to have a dalmation that had separation anxiety. When we left the house, he would destroy something. He destroyed CDs, shoes, and books that he pulled off the shelf. We had to put a fence up so that we could leave him outside while we were gone... or we wouldn't have anything left in the house.
He was a very loving dog. He also liked to be right under your feet. Many dogs like to be right by their owner. Do you mind stepping over a dog all the time? You can teach the dog to go lie somewhere else, but will the dog be happy? If you spend enough quality time with him, he might be.
I hope you will find the right dog for you. After all, they love you unconditionally. Will you give your dog the attention he needs in return?
